“The Late Paper” In “The Late Paper,” the author describes how a student named Kim turned in her final cover late and failed her Psychology class. There were several people who were responsible for Kim handing in her report card late and as a result receiving an “F.” Philip, Arnold’s co-worker, created a spark that influenced Arnold to be jealous of Kim and discouraged her from succeeding. Cindy, Kim’s friend, convinced her to go to the party which caused her to oversleep the next morning. Therefore, she couldn’t make it to campus on time. Professor Freud’s secretary, Mary, is a lower-ranking at fault too for giving Kim the wrong increment about being able to hand in her paper late. However, the person who most at fault for Kim’s “F” was her husband, Arnold because he wasn’t being adjunct, but rather maintain a negative attitude towards Kim attending College.
